Sunshine Yellow Tallboy Chest of Drawers
I'm still in my RAINBOW COLOUR theme - here's some golden, sunshine yellow... a painted tallboy chest of drawers.
But first of all, here's the before and work photo - a nice piece of 1950s solid wood furniture.
I painted him all over using a pollen yellow coloured chalk paint from Autentico, it's called 'Sunshine'. A very pretty golden yellow. Here's the 'after' once finished. What a difference!!
If you want to try painting your own furniture, once you've added paint and got the coverage you need, you can lightly sand away the paint to reveal the wood beneath and get some 'shabby chic' going. It's what I did with this piece. The chalk paint dries to a chalky finish.
For the next stage, when the painting's finished, add black wax with clear wax and build up a bit of character.
Silver gilding adds to the Regency look - typically golden yellows, black and silver.
The silver gilding has been carried through to the handles and drawer tops too.
Such a happy piece of furniture and n the shop now :-)
