Make it Red! Raspberry Painted Cupboard

It's very satisfying to take a old piece of furniture like this and turn it into something so very different. This piece from the 1930s has lovely old Bakelite handles, but sadly one is broken so a total overhaul is needed.

Tralaaaa...  this is just a quick snap taken in the shop but a great transformation.

After a few coats of Autentico's Ruby red chalk paint, dark wax has been used, it tones down the hot red colour to more of a raspberry, adds aging and - lots of character.

The handles have been changed to the ceramic clock faces.

And gilding's been added across the drawer and cupboard tops.

Light gilding highlights the cabriole feet.  I just love this raspberry colour, it's so uplifting :-)
